Wine hiking in Vienna

Around 700 hectares of vineyards characterize the landscape, with our world-famous “Grüner Veltliner” being one of the most frequently used varieties. The Viennese vineyards are a must for all those for whom cuisine and culture are top priorities. In my opinion, a wine hike through the beautiful landscape is particularly suitable to soak up the flair of Vienna's wine culture. The best place to start is in Vienna Nussdorf (19th district) and hike up to the Kahlenberg. To round off your day perfectly, I definitely recommend a visit to a “Heurigen” in the Viennese vineyards – of course with a breathtaking view over Vienna.
