About the creation
Before World War II, a highly prestigious Jewish department store stood on this remarkable site in the middle of the city. This store was equipped with contemporary facilities and counted many loyal customers from all over the city among its guests.

However, this historic building was destroyed during the Second World War. It was severely damaged on the outside and devastated by fires on the inside. After the end of the war, the reconstruction of the building took place, and part of the rebuilt house thus became today's "Boutique Hotel am Stephansplatz".
