Sightseeing, shopping and typical cuisine

at Vienna's most central

  • You will rarely be able to stay more centrally located in a big city than in our four-star, feel-good HOTEL AM STEPHANSPLATZ, Vienna's most central. St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna’s landmark, is directly opposite - only 56 steps away. Try it!

  • The rest of the neighbourhood is also literally something to see. St. Peters Church, thought to be Vienna's oldest, the Albertina with its magnificent collection of graphic works, the Imperial Palace with the Sisi Museum and the Spanish Riding School, the State Opera, the museums of Art History (KHM) and Natural History (NHM), the Burgtheater (National Theatre), City Hall (Rathaus) with its many events, both inside and on the square, the bubbly Museum Quarter (MQ) – these and many other cultural points of interest are very close and easy to reach by foot.

  • The only thing that could "prolong" the short distances are the many temptations along the way, such as the culinary delights at Café Demel, the bohemian Café Hawelka, or  the typically Viennese restaurants Figlmüller and Plachutta. The Bar >ara_gall<, which is open to the public, on the Beletage of the HOTEL AM STEPHANSPLATZ also invites you to lounge for a while. Culinary delicacies are served here at different times of the day, along with a free Cathedral view.

  • And if you are in the mood for a change and feel like going on a shopping spree, downtown Vienna's most exclusive shopping mile is at your doorstep: the pedestrian zones Kärntner Straße, Graben and Kohlmarkt, also referred to as the "Golden U." If you want to explore further you can be at the shopping paradises of Mariahilfer Straße and Naschmarkt (for fine cuisine) in less than 10 minutes, thanks to our perfect connection to the metro (U-Bahn lines U1, U3; “Stephansplatz” station).

  • For more information, please ask our reception staff, who will be more than happy to help you book tickets for cultural highlights.
